What to look for when choosing a Pet Portrait Artist?

It can be a daunting task when it comes to choosing a pet portrait artist. There are many artists available and, while searching the web, you can see there are as many different styles to choose from. Hopefully this information will make the undertaking less intimidating.

The portrait should not only look like your pet, but it should capture their spirit and personality. As you know, each animal has his or her own “special uniqueness”, and you will want that captured in your portrait…I believe this is my forte.

Professional and Reliable—Make sure the artwork is to your liking and the website is professional. Your inquiries should be responded to in a timely fashion. If you have any questions, please feel free to visit my contact page to email me. I am usually able to respond within 48 hours. I look forward to hearing from you.

Choosing the style you like—do you want your portrait to be contemporary, traditional, or with an “abstract” flare? I am trained in Fine Art, but also a professional Faux Artist, allowing me to paint in a variety of techniques and textures.

Authentic portrait—the portrait should be fine art. My portraits are traditionally hand painted like the masters from your favorite photo, starting with a blank canvas. I use only the finest archival quality paints, pencils, pastels, papers and canvases.

Worry Free— there should be no surprises when you receive your finished portrait. You should be a part of the process. I like to email photos of the portrait while painting and before it is sent, to make sure it is exactly what you anticipate.
